November 2021. HiFly landed an A340 on a 3,000 metre blue ice runway at Wolf's Fang in Antarctica. The first time a wide body commercial airliner had touched down on the continent.
The flight carried scientists, polar workers, and supplies into the ice. Captain Carlos Mirpuri at the controls, the same A340 fleet HiFly uses for charter and ACMI work worldwide.
