The 2017-2018 edition of the Volvo Ocean Race ran from Alicante to The Hague between October 2017 and June 2018. Seven Volvo Ocean 65s covered 45,000 nautical miles across eleven legs.
The fourth and final edition of the race in the one design VO65 class. The racing came down to crew, weather routing, and pure boat handling. The lead changed hands repeatedly across the legs. Dongfeng Race Team won.
Contracted by the Volvo Ocean Race, 16DS producer Marc Bow, together with fellow 16DS producer Brian Carlin and a wider team, produced the TV series and official film which was broadcast on TV networks around the world including Sky Sports.
